Who
are we?
We are a small group of South East Alaskan Commercial
Trollers, based out of Elfin cove and Sitka. Elfin Cove is
located on the north west corner of South East Alaska where
Cross Sound enters the inside passage. Sitka is on the west
side of Baranof Island.
We cruise the pristine ocean waters in search of wild
salmon. When they are ocean bright, they are in their prime
condition, and the natural oil content, color, and flavor
are at their absolute peak. |
| With the decline of salmon
prices (due to the saturation of the market by farmed salmon),
we deided to direct market our own salmon, so that we could
bring healthy, non-contaminated wild salmon to the environmental
conscience and health-wise individuals who still want the
real thing.
We believe that folks like you, would appreciate these
abundant, healthy, nutritious, wild salmon, right here at
home. |

| Read our Fishing
Fable to hear about our fishing excursion from our first
year. After reading it, you will understand how our name "The
ElFish Company" came about. At first, it seemed like a
silly name for a salmon company, but hey, that didn't stop Peter
Pan! |
| What
do we do?
We direct-market Alaska Wild Salmon! We travel out to
the open pristine waters (the ocean) of South East Alaska
where we catch wild salmon when they are in prime condition,
and the natural oil content, color, and flavor are at their
absolute peak. Troll caught salmon means that every fish is
caught selectively and individually by hook and line. No nets
are used, thus there is no by-catch and very little impact
on the environment.
The utmost care is taken in the handling our fish. Every
fish we catch is brought onto the boat one-by-one. They are
stunned in the water to avoid bruising and scale loss. Once
the fish is on board, it is immediately bled, cleaned and
stored below in flake ice to ensure the highest quality. See
